Massingir, Mozambique Safaris

The camp is unfenced, so caution must be taken when moving between tents and the communal area. The Nyala Tented Camp is not suitable for small children.  

• The Tented Camp is solar powered. There are lights as well as an overhead fan and a plug point in each tent.
• There is a gas stove and a charcoal fire for cooking, and a ‘donkey’ boiler is used for hot water.
• There is a covered deck area with a splash pool* overlooking a large expanse of Bushveld and a waterhole.
• There is a central boma with a small kitchen area for dining under the stars. 

*The pool is only filled during high season periods.

Our accommodation consists of five tents, each with an en-suite 'open air' bathroom (shower only) and a private veranda. Each tent has two single beds in each. We cannot add extra beds or mattresses into the tents.  

There is a groundsman at Nyala Camp who will take care of the making of fires and the washing of dishes. We have braaipacks available for sale at the Main Camp, and we can supply accompaniments for your braai – please inquire at the time of booking. Our groundsman bakes lovely fresh bread in the camp. Please enquire about this if you are interested, at the time of making a booking.

Water is not suitable for drinking. We supply clean water for brushing teeth, and we also supply a 500ml of bottled water per guest.  You are advised to bring more of your own drinking water.

There is a cash bar at the Main Camp. You are welcome to purchase drinks when you arrive with a selection of drinks and ice for sale – local beers, colddrinks and bottled water.
